In Public Life and the Professions

Baron Judge of Draycote (formerly Sir Igor Judge) was appointed as Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales and elevated to the peerage in the autumn of 2008. He attended The Oratory School from 1954 until 1959 where he was both Captain of School and Captain of Cricket.

Judge Keith Hornby (O.S. 1960-65) is a circuit judge in the South East circuit.

Edward Leigh (O.S. 1963-5) -  pictured - has been Member of Parliament for Gainsborough and its predecessor constituency since 1983. He spent nine years as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee. 

Peter Stilwell 1960-64) is the Rector of the Catholic Universtiy in Macau 

Peter W Evans (1959-64) is Professor at Film at Queen Mary, London and author.

George von Furstenberg (O.S. 1955-58) is Professor of Economics at the Universtiy of Indiana. He has been Chief of the Financial Studies Division of the IMF.

Richard Cairns (O.S. 1979-84) is Head Master of Brighton College, a post he has held since 2006. 

Istvan Berkeley (1975-82) is Professor of Cognitive Science and Philosophy at the University of Louisiana

Paul Farmer (O.S. 1979-84) is Chief Executive of MIND, the mental health charity; Paul has been at MIND since 2006, following posts at mental health charity Rethink and the Samaritans.

Adrian Bridge (O.S. 1974-81) received the Sword of Honour at the R.M.A. Sandhurst in 1984.   Ben Hughes (O.S. 1983-88) also received the Sword of Honour at Sandhurst, in August 1992.

Tom Bonas (1966-71) is a Colonel and Regimental Adjutant in the Welsh Guards at Wellington Barracks.

Edward Moorhouse (1983-9) is a Lt Colonel with 40 Commando, currently attached to the British Embassy in Washington

 

In the Arts and Media 

Michael Berkeley (O.S. 1961-66) is a composer and rBBC presenter. His compositions include concerti, three operas and film scores.

Ben Pope (O.S. 1981-85) is a conductor who has worked with The Royal Philharmonic and the BBC Concert Orchestra and who is currently the Musical Director of the Royal Ballet of Flanders. He also conducts opera, and composes and orchestrates for film, TV and radio.

Toby Clements (O.S. 1980-85) is a journalist, reviewer and novelist. His latest work "Kingmaker: Winter Pilgrims" has been well-reviewed in the press. (2014)

Jonathan Bailey (1999-2004) has appeared in numerous television dramas, inlcuding recently, Broadchurch for ITV 1 and on stage in David Hare's play South Downs and at the National Theatre as Cassio in Othello.

Roger Greene (O.S. 1964-66) is a documentary film maker, lecturer and author in Ireland.

Ed Conway (O.S. 1993-98)  has been appointed to the new role of Economics Editor of Sky News. He had previously been Economics Editor of The Daily Telegraph.  

Tom Sandars (O.S. 1989-94) is a newsreader, presenter, voiceover artist for the BBC and Sky.

 

Sport:

Alex Pearce (O.S. 2002-05) in 2008 was called up for the Scotland Under 21 XI and plays defence for the Premier League Football Club, Reading. He is the teams' VIce Captain.

Danny Housego (O.S. 2002-07) was a member of the Middlesex Crusaders squad that won cricket’s Twenty20Championship in 2008

Benny Howell (O.S. 2001-07) made his first class cricket debut for Hampshire in 20122 but now plays for Gloucestershire.

Tim Male (O.S. 1988-94), Olympic sculler, rowed at lightweight level for Great Britain between 2001 and 2006, representing the country in the coxless four at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games

Mat Anker (O.S. 2003-08) was a Junior British rowing international, coming seventh in the coxless pair in the Beijing Regatta of 2007

Andy Vilk (O.S. 1994-99) was appointed Captain of the England Rugby Sevens Squad for the World Sevens Series Tournament in Dubai and won a Silver Medal in the Sport in the Commonwealth Games. He is now in Italy playing for Treviso.

Mark Bruce (O.S. 1996-2001) has represented Ireland in Sevens,

Danny Cipriani (O.S. 1999-2001) has played Fly Half for England.

Ayoola Erinle (O.S. 1993-98) has played for England Saxons and Leicester Tigers. He made his England debut in the England v Australia match.
